Analysis of lightweight single-track performance

Tracks are a convenient running gear mechanism for producing thrust over many different types of soft terrains. Being able to support more load, to provide more traction, and to sink less, they are often preferred to wheels. Many lightweight robotic systems utilize tracks and I am working on understanding how to model lightweight tracked vehicle performance.
